Jump Start Sports – Staff Pay Structure & Guidelines
Staff Roles:
Program Director (Lead Coach):
- Leads sessions and manages class flow.
- Communicates clearly with parents and children.
- Ensures safety and session quality.
- Responsible for overall class organization, equipment, and guidance of Program Coordinators.
Program Coordinator (Assistant Coach):
- Assists Director with coaching and class management.
- Handles equipment, setup, and participant engagement.
- Supports Director to ensure smooth operation of each session.
Employee Referral Bonus:
- $100 for a Director Role (Must be here 90+ days with over 24 hours of work)
- $50 for a Coordinator Role (Must be here 90+ days with over 24 hours of work)

General Staff Information
1. What are the different staff roles at Jump Start Sports?
We have two main roles:
- Program Director (Lead Coach): Leads sessions, manages class flow, communicates with parents, ensures safety, and organizes equipment.
- Program Coordinator (Assistant Coach): Assists the Director, sets up equipment, engages participants, and supports class operations.
2. How do I know which role I qualify for?
- If you have prior coaching experience, leadership skills, and can manage a class independently, you may qualify as a Program Director.
- If you are new to coaching or prefer a supporting role, you may start as a Program Coordinator and grow into a Director position.
Pay, Payroll, & Incentives
3. How often do we get paid?
We run weekly payroll. Payments are processed at the end of each week for hours worked in the previous week.
4. How do I get paid?
- W2 Employees: Paid through Direct Deposit with applicable taxes withheld. Paystubs will be available.
- W9 Contractors: Paid via Direct Deposit as independent contractors. No paystubs are provided, and you are responsible for tracking your earnings and handling your taxes.
5. What are the pay rates for staff members?

6. What is the "Peak Ratio" pay incentive?
If a Program Director effectively manages a class at full capacity (10:1 ratio for ages 3-5 or 12:1 for ages 6-9), they will receive a higher hourly rate as a reward for efficiency and leadership.
Scheduling & Attendance
7. How do I check my schedule?
We use Sling for all scheduling and communication. You can check your assigned shifts and updates through the Sling App.
8. What happens if I can’t make a scheduled session?
- You must notify your Program Director through Sling at least 12 hours in advance if you need to cancel.
- If you no-show without notifying us, it may result in a reduction of scheduled hours.
- Emergency situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
9. How many staff members are needed per session?
Staffing is based on class size:

Employee Expectations
10. What is expected of me as a staff member?
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early to set up and prepare.
- Prioritize safety, engagement, and positive reinforcement with participants.
- Communicate through Sling for schedule updates, changes, and important announcements.
- Uphold Jump Start Sports standards when interacting with children and parents.
11. What should I wear to work?
- Jump Start Sports shirt (provided to staff).
- Athletic shorts or pants (no jeans).
- Comfortable sneakers (no sandals or boots).
Referral Bonus Program
12. Can I earn extra money by referring new staff?
Yes! We offer an Employee Referral Bonus:
- $100 for referring a Program Director (must complete 90+ days & 24+ hours of work).
- $50 for referring a Program Coordinator (must complete 90+ days & 24+ hours of work).
13. How do I refer someone?
- Have them apply and mention your name as the referral source.
- Once they meet the work requirements, you’ll receive your bonus!
General FAQs
14. What if I have an issue with my paycheck?
- W2 Employees: Contact [insert payroll contact info] for assistance.
- W9 Contractors: Since no paystubs are provided, track your payments and hours independently.
15. What happens if a session is canceled due to weather?
- You will be notified as soon as possible via Sling.
- If a session is canceled before it starts, it will not be counted as a paid session.
- If a session is canceled after starting, partial payment may be given based on time worked.
16. Can I work at multiple locations?
Yes! Let us know if you are available for additional programs in other locations.
17. How do I request more hours or additional shifts?
- Check for open shifts in Sling or speak with your Program Director.
18. Who should I contact if I have questions?
- Use Sling for all communication regarding scheduling, updates, and staff coordination.
- Reach out to your Program Director for daily work-related questions.
- Contact your manager for payroll, scheduling, or general inquiries.
